Consultations

The policy work in Education Otherwise is carried out by EO's Government Policy Group and Disability Group who respond to consultations and meet with Government and other agencies. You can find out more about the work of Education Otherwise Small Groups here.

Education Otherwise also has an active campaigning group within the Government Policy Group. Latest news from the EO Campaign website can be found here.

Members of the Government Policy Group also attend meetings and events with officials on a regular basis and are also invited to speak at conferences. Examples can be found here.

At the end of June 2007 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) was split into two: the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department for Innovations Universities and Skills (DIUS).

We designate our consultations by the Department from which they originated. Most consultations in this section were issued by the DfES or the DCSF but Education Otherwise Government Policy Group and Disability Group have a broader remit to respond as necessary to consultations from other Government Departments, Non Departmental Public Bodies (NDPB) and regulatory bodies.

Government departments include the Department of Heath (DoH), the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), the Ministry of Justice(MoJ) and the Department for Innovations Universities and Skills (DIUS).
